Attorney Swanson received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida in 1995 (summa cum laude).  He then went on to received his law degree from the University of Washington, School of Law in 1999.  After graduating from law school, Attorney Swanson practiced as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney at the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Washington, trying over 50 jury cases through verdict.  After relocating to Connecticut in 2002 to start a family with his wife Meredith, Attorney Swanson entered private practice at the Hartford law firm of Gould, Killian & Wynne as an associate and thereafter earned a position as a partner in 2007.  While at Gould, Killian & Wynne, in addition to handling essentially all of the firm’s criminal defense matters, Attorney Swanson practiced in the areas of personal injury, family law, employment litigation, civil litigation, and real estate law.  Swanson Law, LLC is a full service law firm, representing individuals and businesses in the state and federal courts throughout Connecticut and also various administrative agencies and tribunals.  Attorney Swanson is an aggressive litigator who takes a hands-on approach to the legal matters he handles in order to gain an thorough understanding of not only the facts that gave rise to a given dispute, but also a comprehensive appreciation of his clients’ specific and unique circumstances.  Whether it involves traveling to the scene of a DUIstop/arrest to identify inconsistencies in law enforcement’s rendition of the events, or visiting a client’s business tobetter understand the nuances of the business' operations, Attorney Swanson leaves no stone unturned.   In addition to the individuals he represents, Attorney Swanson serves as outside general counsel for a number of small businesses in the greater Hartford area and throughout Connecticut.  Attorney Swanson’s years of litigation experience allows him to advise his business clients on their day-to-day operations and avoid the common pitfalls and oversights which often lead to unnecessary claims and litigation.  Attorney Swanson is a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  He is licensed to practice before all of the Connecticut state courts and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
